Genealogy Programs

October is Family History Month and Westmoreland County Libraries are prepared to help you begin your journey to discover your family’s stories.

During October, you are invited to attend one or more Genealogy programs being offered throughout the county.  There are 5 different topics to choose from:

Discovering Your Family’s Stories: October 1, Mount Pleasant Free Public Library; October 3, Murrysville Community Library and October 6, Delmont Public Library.

Beginner Genealogy: Build Your Family Tree: October 7, Vandergrift Public Library; October 9, Adams Memorial Library (Latrobe); October 16, Rostraver Public Library; October 18, Monessen Public Library; and October 22, Caldwell Memorial Library (Derry).

Coming to America: October 9, Scottdale Public Library; October 14, Greensburg Hempfield Area Library; October 25, Monessen Public Library; October 28, Ligonier Valley Library; October 30, Peoples Library (Lower Burrell Branch).

Internet Genealogy for Beginners: October 22, Jeannette Public Library.

Step Away from the Computer: October 16, Adams Memorial Library (Latrobe).

Our speakers are Donna Edwards-Jordan and Donna Vesely.  Both speakers are well-versed in helping others uncover their family’s stories.  Programs are 90 minutes in length. Registration may be required.
