February is “Love My Library Month”

Westmoreland County Libraries invites the community to celebrate “Love My Library Month” February 2026.

“Love My Library” is a month-long recognition of the vital role public libraries play in strengthening communities, supporting early childhood education, lifelong learning, and access to trusted information. It is also a reminder that public libraries are more than “just books”.  At the library you will find activities for all ages, special displays, community partnership programs, family-friendly events, access to technology and digital resources. Public libraries are FREE, accessible and welcoming to everyone.

Community members are encouraged to share their support by:

  • Participating in “Take Your Child to the Library Day” on Saturday, February 7th (or any day).
  • Visiting on February 14th to honor “Library Lovers Day”.
  • Renewing or registering for a library card.
  • Donating to purchase a book in honor or memory of someone you love.
  • Downloading the Libby app to borrow e-books from the local or state collections.
  • Subscribing to your library’s mailing list.
  • Sharing something positive about public libraries on your social media.
  • Telling a friend about the public library.

Demonstrate how much you value your community’s public library by visiting yours during the month of February!
