Westmoreland County Libraries is excited to invite our library card holders and new residents to join in on some summer Bingo fun for a chance to win a prize! Come have some summer fun with us and grab your Bingo card at your local library! If you don’t have a library card, you can get one when you pick up your Bingo card.
Every Bingo card is packed with a mix of activities to help you discover something new at your library, enjoy the sunshine, embrace some culture, and explore your surroundings.
Visitors to museums discover an entirely new universe. Families can learn new things and spend quality time together by participating in in-person experiences. Use your Library card to check out a pass and obtain free access to six local museums in Westmoreland County which include the Lincoln Highway Experience, West Overton Village, Westmoreland Museum of American Art, Greensburg Fire Department Museum, Fort Ligonier, and Bushy Run Battlefield. Passes are good for free admission for two adults and up to four children. Each public library has one pass per museum available for check-out which can be requested through the catalog at wcl.link/Museum25. There is no fee to borrow a museum pass. Passes can be checked out for one week, but because of their high demand, passes may not be renewed.
Westmoreland Land Trust and the Westmoreland County Libraries collaborated to create three nature-themed backpacks; make sure to check out one or more. Each backpack—one for birds, one for flowers and pollinators, and one for streams and woods—combines learning about nature with exploring our county parks and trails. A copy of the Westmoreland County Parks Passport, nature guides, supplies, equipment, and a map of the county’s 10 parks and five trails are all included in each backpack.
The game runs from June 1 to August 9. A drawing will be held from all completed Bingo cards returned to your local library by August 9. On August 16, the winners will be drawn, and an adult will receive one reward, and a youngster will receive the other.
Your local public library and Westmoreland County offer a wealth of information and learning opportunities. There’s no better place to start exploration and education than your local library.
