DESCRIPTION:No one might better fit the bill of a true American than George Washington.\nJoin us as Martin West examines key moments that defined Washington’s life and character—from the influence of his stepbrother that led him to join the Virginia militia\, to his work as a Virginia statesman advocating colonial rights. These experiences earned him the respect of his fellow countrymen and appointment of Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army and later the first president of the United States.  With his accomplishments and revered character it begs the question was Washington possibly THE Greatest American?\nMartin West holds a Master of Arts in Public History and was the director of Fort Ligonier for three decades.  He also served for seven years on the Advisory Council of George Washington Scholars\, Mount Vernon\, Virginia\, and annotated Washington’s “Remarks” for George Washington Remembers: Reflection the French and Indian War.
