Carve and Create with Amy Roadman

Date June 28 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Location Ligonier Valley Library
120 West Main Street
Ligonier, PA 15668 United States

Get ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into the art of ceramics! In this fun and creative pottery class, you’ll make your own slab-built trinket dish, coaster set, or spoon rest-perfect for your home or as a handmade gift. Along the way, you’ll explore the beautiful and expressive sgraffito technique, a decorative process where you apply colorful underglaze to your clay, then carve through it to reveal striking designs beneath.

“Sgraffito” means “to scratch” in Italian, and in this class, you’ll learn to do just that-etching patterns, illustrations, or textures into your pieces using carving tools. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned ceramic artist, this class is a great way to experiment with surface design and create something totally unique.

Space is limited. Please register by Wednesday, June 25th.

We’re keeping this session small and hands-on, with a maximum of 20 participants. Please submit only one registration per person. Duplicate submissions will be either ignored or placed on a waitlist. Once we reach capacity, all additional signups will also be waitlisted.

Participants will be notified of their registration status by Thursday, June 26th.
